My Fashion Designs

For me, fashion design is not a separate field from dance, but rather a natural extension of it. Lagun Dancewear, which I founded at the age of 18, emerged from my desire to find the freedom of movement I needed in the studio and on stage in my own designs. Between 2018 and 2025, the ballet and dance training costumes I designed were used by dancers and dance schools in many cities across Turkey. At that time, it was not just a brand for me, but another form of expression of the relationship I had with the body and movement. When designing, my priority was not only aesthetics. The flow of the fabric, the cut supporting the movement, and the dancer feeling strong and comfortable were always decisive for me. I focused on producing pieces that did not limit the body's technical capacity, but rather supported it. Today, I concentrate my design practice on stage costumes. For me, a costume is not a complement; it is a part of the performance, a partner in the movement. It is an element that strengthens the choreographic structure, makes the character visible, and carries the energy on stage. Dance, choreography, and design are not separate in my world; they are different layers of the same creative journey.
